Day Out for the Senses

The Park offers the perfect sensory experience for your Special Educational Needs (SEN) group.

99% of the Park is accessible to wheelchairs, including the train, and we also offer a Changing Places facility. Our keepers have lots of experience in adapting talks to any ability and all of our talks are designed to be as hands-on as possible, some even come with smells! Many of our staff have also had basic Makaton training.

Talks we offer include:

Touch Tables

Investigate skulls, bones and animal skins and more in this interactive, sensory session...

Hands-on Reptiles

Come face to face with snakes, lizards and reptiles in this exciting hands-on session...

Other facilities we offer for SEN groups

  • Limited number of free wheel chairs for hire.
  • Wheel chair access to the train.
  • Changing places toilet with celling hoist, shower and moveable bed.
  • Plenty of disabled toilets around the Park.
