Plant of the Month : October 2018

Autumn Colour

Autumn colours at the Park

Over recent years we have planted a range of trees and shrubs to provide autumn colour. This includes varieties with attractive fruits such as Crab Apples and Mountain Ash. Maples, Sweet Gums, Cherries, Oaks and Ash provide spectacular leaf colours. The vibrancy of leaf colour varies year on year, fortunately the warm days and cool nights we have experienced recently have triggered many fine displays.

This lovely ‘Indian Summer’ has also helped many flowering plants at the Park perform well. Our giant ‘Monsterosa’ Pampas Grasses are looking magnificent, along with the diverse colours of the Michaelmas Daisies. Rudbeckia Deamii is still abundant amongst our prairie planting, giving a spectacular splash of golden yellow to brighten up anyone’s day.
