Accessibility

We welcome visitors with disabilities together with their helpers and carers.

The Park is a flat site with wide maintained paths and there are numerous benches around the Park in which to sit, relax and enjoy the view.

Wheelchair and pushchair friendly

There is easy wheelchair and pushchair access to all enclosures, on to the Narrow-Gauge Railway and to the Gift Shop and Restaurant.  We have ensured that any windows in our enclosures are viewable from a wheelchair. There are ramps to access the Giraffe house, Wolverine enclosure and Wolves.

Disabled toilets

There are disabled toilet facilities in each toilet block situated around the Park. These are situated by the Leopards, in the Restaurant, by the Reptile Courtyard and by the Gift Shop (opposite the disabled Car Park). There is a changing facility in the First Aid Room in the Manor House next to the main office, and in our second First Aid Room by the Gift Shop.

Changing places Toilet

We have recently installed a Changing Places toilet near the Gift shop opposite the disabled car parking.

It comprises of:

  • A free standing, height adjustable, moveable, adult sized changing bed. This can be used in conjunction with the shower.
  • Ceiling hoist, sling and track.
  •  Shower (hoist reaches shower).
  • Washbasin and peninsular toilet.

This changing facility is only for paying customers who are visiting the Park and is available daily from 10am to 4:30pm in summer and to 3:30pm in winter. Customers wanting to use this facility must ask in the Gift Shop (next door) for the security code for the door.

A limited number of wheelchairs are available to hire from the Gift Shop and there is no charge for their use. Please book in advance to be sure of availability. A maximum of two wheelchairs can be hired per person/group and we are unable to provide wheelchairs for large groups. These are collected from the Gift Shop which is next to the disabled parking bays.
