Reptile House

Formerly used as stables, the converted barn is now home for a variety of Reptiles and Amphibians.

Crocodiles

Our Morelet’s Crocodiles are currently the only 3 animals in the UK. Ours gave birth this year - and it's the first time ever in the UK they have been successfully bred.

Snakes

The Reptile House is home for a variety of snake species from the deadly Gaboon Viper which have the longest fangs in the snake world, to the Reticulated Python which are the longest snake species. Barney is currently over 24 feet in length and still growing!!

Lizards

There are thousands of different species of lizards and they can be found almost everywhere worldwide. At the Park we have just a few species, from one of the only two venomous species of lizards the Beaded Lizard, to Rhinoceros Iguana, Asian Water Dragon and the smaller Leopard Gecko.

Tortoises

In front of the Manor House you will find our Tortoise enclosure which is home to several species, the largest being the Aldabra Tortoise. The two largest animals have been resident at the Park since we opened in 1970, we do not know how old they were when they arrived, but it wouldn’t be impossible for this long lived species to be here still in a hundred years time!

Amphibians

Several species of amphibians are on display in the Reptile House including Dwarf African Clawed Frog, Green and Black Poison Arrow Frog, and Spiny Reed Frog.

Aqua Vivarium

At the entrance of the Reptile House are two Aqua Vivaria which house a small variety of fish species.

Insect House

The Insect House is home for all kinds of invertebrates, from the industrious colony of Leaf Cutting Ants, to Tarantulas and Scorpions, and the beautifully coloured Butterflies.
