Lucifer is a Dad!

Less than 4 years have passed since Lucifer was born at the Park, son of our Asian Lions Sabu and Akela.

In 2004 Lucifer was re-located to London Zoo to follow recommendations made by the European Breeding Programme. This month we were delighted to hear news that Lucifer has just sired two of his own cubs, making Sabu and Akela grandparents.

Lucifer's sister was sent even further a field, she now resides at Prague Zoo, and two cubs from an earlier litter of ours were sent to Nuremberg and Frankfurt Zoos. Asiatic Lions? Perhaps we should start calling them European Lions!
