2004

» LEOPARD LOLLIES
With the hot weather upon us, researcher Katie Dyke has come up with a novel way of keeping our rare Amur Leopards occupied and cool at the same time.

» GABOON VIPER OPERATION
Potentially one of the most dangerous animals at the Park, treating this snake was not going to be a routine procedure.

» WHERE DO OUR ANIMALS COME FROM
Several questions are asked by visitors about our animals, such as, where do we get our animals from? What happens to the animals we breed at the Park? and How much do certain animals cost? They are often surprised at the answers ...

» SNAKE WEIGHING
On the 21st May 2004 five of our large snakes were moved to a bigger enclosure. The two Reticulated Pythons and three Green Anacondas are potentially very dangerous animals, all capable of causing serious injury or to humans, so needless to say they are seldom handled.

At Cotswold Wildlife Park, near Burford, the colony of Meerkats have their very own version of an Easter Egg Hunt.

» REPTILE EXHIBITS
Marc Ormond, Head of Reptiles, has transformed the entrance to the Reptile House with unusual new exhibits.

» RHINOCEROUS IGUANA
We are making a concerted effort this year to breed our Rhinoceros Iguana. We had eggs from them last year, but they all proved to be infertile (the male was not old enough).
