Key Stage 3-4
You are welcome to select any of our Key stage 2 tours and talks.
In addition, we offer:
Living Things and their Environment
Using one, of three, areas in the Park, this session examines the relationships between animals and their environment. The themes are:
Africa: camels, zebra, rhinoceros, lions and leopards.
Tropical Rainforests: lemurs, sloths, hornbills, touraco, squirrel monkeys, parrots and tamarins.
New World: tapirs, peccaries, capybaras, wallabies, timber wolves.
In each case, a selection of the animals listed will be used, rather than the whole group.
[KS3:SC2:4abc,5abcd]
Classification:
Based around the reptile and invertebrate houses, this session concentrates on the classification of the main vertebrate and invertebrate phyla. Some classification of mammals and birds is included, using species from other areas of the Park, for example owls, vultures, bats and gibbons.
Reptiles [classroom]
Classroom based, the live animals used to illustrate the range of reptiles held in the Park provide the chance for a ‘hands on’ experience.
We can only offer a limited number of these talks – two on any day and four in any week.
There is a maximum of fifteen pupils on any talk – a class of thirty would need two talks. We will charge for these talks throughout the year.

The Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens as a Business [classroom]
Explore the history of the Park, and understand its income, expenditure and its plans for the near future. Whilst intended for students studying business related courses at GCSE and AS/A2 levels, the talk’s contents are as flexible as possible, always ending with a question and answer session. Please indicate the level of study and required information at the time of booking.
Enclosure Design
This is a day workshop, starting at 10.00 and ending at 14.00
Having made an initial tour of the Park where they will have to consider the design of some of our enclosures from both the animal’s and the visitor’s perspectives, the students will then have a talk from a keeper on aspects of enclosure design.
Following this, the students will attend a workshop requiring them to decide which of twelve animal species the Park could introduce into a specific area. Finally, they will be asked to design an enclosure to house their chosen species.
We will charge £1.00 per pupil for this talk throughout the year, in addition to our entry fee.
