Ringtailed Lemur Ringtailed Lemur

The ring-tailed lemur lives in a wide range of habitats such as deciduous forests with grass floors, or forests along and also wet brush where few trees grow. However, it is thought that the Ring-tailed Lemur needs primary forest (undisturbed) in order to survive. They are found in southern and south western Madagascar. Ring tailed lemurs are social animals, living in groups of up to 24 individuals of both sexes where females are dominant.

Alaotran Gentle Lemur Alaotran Gentle Lemur

Alaotran gentle lemurs live in groups of 2-9 individuals or either a pair and their offspring or 2 adult pairs and their offspring. These are the only lemurs to be found in a habitat consisting of reeds and papyrus and marshes surrounding Lac Alaotra in central eastern Madagascar. They are strict folivores which mean they only eat the leaves of papyrus, reeds, grasses and ferns.

Ruffed Lemur Ruffed Lemur

From Western Madagasca - Ruffed Lemurs have a wide range of calls and you are most likely to hear the loud roaring bark, an alarm/territorial call. You may see the adults hanging upside down from the enclosure roof from their feet like a bat. Feeds on fruit, seeds, leaves and nectar.
