	Bactrian Camel The Bactrian Camel is formerly from Soviet Central Asia to Mongolia. Now only found naturally in the Gobi Desert, Mongolia. The humps are used to store fat, not water, as is commonly thought. The thick fur covers the body in winter but moults out during late spring to early summer. This is done so rapidly that it comes off in large masses, giving the animal a rather 'moth-eaten' appearance. Mainly eats vegetation, but if forced by hunger, will eat fish, flesh, bones and skin.
